Cardiology

The Cardiac and ECP Center of JBFH is led by Dr. MA Baqui, the pioneer of Enhanced External Counter Pulsation (EECP) treatment for Coronary Artery Diseases in Bangladesh. This centre also provides Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Myocardial Revascularization (ESMR) Heart Therapy, a non-invasive treatment for heart disease.

Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery

The field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery deals with the surgery of organs in the thorax, including the heart and lungs and blood vessels of the body. A team of cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons treat diseases such as for coronary artery disease (blockage of the blood vessels of the heart), lung cancer, esophageal cancer and peripheral arterial disease. The field is very diverse and encompasses coronary artery bypass surgery, lung resection, vascular stenting, and many other procedures.

Colorectal Surgery

Colorectal surgery is a branch of surgery dedicated to improving symptoms of conditions affecting the colon, rectum or anus. Symptoms relating to colorectal diseases are extremely common among the population and include bleeding from the anus and rectum, swelling, itching or infections of the anal area, long term constipation, diarrhoea and changes of bowel habit. Our consultants have expertise in all types of surgery, including keyhole and open surgery.

Critical Care Medicine

This field of medicine deals with patients who fall into a critical condition that may be life threatening. Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The field of dentistry and oro-maxillo-facial surgery deals with operations of the teeth, jaw, face and mouth to correct wear and tear, infections, injuries and defects. Dermatology

The department of Diabetology, Endocrinology and Metabolic Disorders deals with the diagnosis and treatment of Diabetes, diseases relating to hormones (endocrine disorders) and metabolic diseases. These occur when the normal hormonal balance of the human body is disrupted for various reasons. These diseases can be normally characterised by: Unexpected weight loss or weight gain, Tiredness or lack of energy and Decreased appetite.

ENT (Otolaryngology) & Head Neck Surgery

ENT and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Center offers excellent healthcare services related to diseases of the ear, nose and throat. Led by Prof. Dr. A.F. Due to it's immense benefits, minimally invasive surgical procedures have become one of the most promising fields of surgery of the 21st century. The demand for this surgery comes from both the surgeon as well as the patient, who benefits most from it. The importance of laparoscopic surgery is greater in a developing country like Bangladesh because there is a greater scarcity and demand for hospital beds and at the same time early return to work is a financial necessity. It has already become a reality that in the next generation of surgical practice, all surgeons of all specialties will have to go for endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures. Neonatology

This departments concerns with disorders of the nervous system. Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems.

Neurosurgery

The Department of Neurosurgery of JBFH deals with the diagnosis, treatment and management of conditions of the nervous system, which includes the brain, spinal cord and nerves. The department is led by neurosurgeons who are highly trained and specialized in performing complex surgeries of the nervous system. The department may offer a wide range of diagnostic and treatment options for neurological conditions, including minimally invasive procedures and cranial (head and brain) or spine surgeries. Some of the common conditions that may be treated in a neurosurgery department include brain tumors, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, aneurysms, and spinal disorders.

Nutrition and Dietetics

Nutrition & Dietetics, is the science that focuses on everything related to food and its effect on health and wellbeing. This department helps patients to make better dietary choices and find a balance between good eating habits and exercising.

Radiology, Imaging & Ultrasound

The Department of Radiology and Imaging is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging tests and procedures such as X-rays, ultrasound scans (Ultrasonography) computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and nuclear medicine scans. These tests and procedures are used to diagnose and monitor a wide range of medical conditions, including injuries, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and many others. This department can be divided into two branches: diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology. Interventional radiology services which involve using imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive procedures such as ultrasound guided biopsies, and the placement of catheters, breast tumour markers or other medical devices are performed by this department.

Respiratory Medicine

The department of Respiratory Medicine is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory conditions and diseases. Rheumatology
