The department of Psychiatry deals with diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders as well as emotional and behavioural disorders. Psychiatrists provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment as well as counselling, rehabilitation and recovery services. Facilities offered by the department may include individual and group therapy, medication management, and inpatient and outpatient care. Additionally they often work with other departments of the hospital to provide an integrated approach for patients with medical illness with co-existing mental health issues.
