The Department of Radiology and Imaging is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging tests and procedures such as X-rays, ultrasound scans (Ultrasonography) computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and nuclear medicine scans. These tests and procedures are used to diagnose and monitor a wide range of medical conditions, including injuries, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and many others. This department can be divided into two branches: diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology.
Interventional radiology services which involve using imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive procedures such as ultrasound guided biopsies, and the placement of catheters, breast tumour markers or other medical devices are performed by this department.
